Smoke Tests are Live

The Backerkit 'Smoke Tests' are live, which means 5% of our backers just got an email with a link to their NARCO/PLASTIC survey. We'll be monitoring those tonight and tomorrow, and if no complaints are logged, we'll be sending everyone's survey out as soon as tomorrow afternoon. We will update you all again as soon as they all go out.

Backerkit Surveys Coming Soon!

Hi everyone-- we are happy to report that the books are at the printer and the Backerkit surveys are currently under review with the Backerkit staff. We will know if they find any glitches in a couple of days. After any required tweaks are made, we will do a 'smoke test,' where a small percentage of our backers will get an email with a link to the final survey (this is done to make sure everything works as expected before the surveys go out wide). With that being said, everyone should have their survey next week. Yea! 

For some more good news, on top of making PLASTIC an oversized book as a way of saying 'sorry' to everyone for fulfilling this campaign later than expected (as announced in the last update), we are also offering some great discounts on our backlist items in the Backerkit store-- PLUS, everyone will get free shipping on any additional items ordered during the final checkout. We have some great 12-Gauge produced trades, graphic novels, and comic book sets available for you to chose from. 

As far as fulfillment goes, we have partnered with the fine folks at Whalebacker to get your orders safely delivered to you. The books are being printed overseas, and although the final arrival date to the port in California isn't set in stone quite yet, we expect to take possession of the shipment in November. Once we have the books, the Whalebacker crew will have your orders packed and shipped within a few days of receipt. Of course, we'll keep you updated as we know more. 

We're all so thankful for your patience, and we can't wait to get these items delivered so we can hear what you think of NARCO and this oversized hardcover edition of PLASTIC!

Time for an update! (And it's good news)

Hey all-- this is Keven from 12-Gauge. First, I just wanted to let you know that the final design files for both the NARCO & PLASTIC books are done and are ready for print. We unfortunately ran into a few delays since the last update (just some speed bumps, which typically don't all happen on the same project, but so it goes). I apologize for the delays, and thank you all for being so patient, but it is exciting to finally be close to the finish line. We're finalizing our printing contract now, and the only thing left is to close a deal with a fulfillment company (that will happen long before the books arrive from the printer and won't slow anything down).

The next big step will be the Backerkit surveys going out to everyone in the next few weeks. Once you complete your survey, the NARCO digital PDF will be available to download (Yea!).  

Also, because everyone has been so awesome, we're going to be changing the size of the PLASTIC Deluxe Edition Hardcover from the standard 6.625" x 10.875" to a larger 8.75" x 11.625" (making it even more "deluxe" than advertised). We're all pretty jazzed about the larger book, and hope that getting this upgraded version helps make up for our production delays. 

The next update will let you know when the Backerkit is live, but it won't be long.

We know it’s been an unusually long process on this one, but we’re nearing the finish line. All the story pages for both books are ready for print. Now the book is in the capable hands of the designer and we’re re-gathering print quotes so we can get these puppies in your hands.

NARCO IS ALMOST DONE!!

CHAPTER 4 IS LETTERED & MORE!!

You guessed it. It's Doug again... after way too long between updates. My bad, folks. HOWEVER, we have made quite a bit of progress since the last update. Ed finished up lettering chapter 4, so we only have one more chapter to finish before we can send this puppy off to the printer. Daniel has been hard at work too. He’s already knocked out all the “DEAD HEAD” and INKED SKETCH commissions. We are soooooo close to finishing this book.

I can’t possibly say “thank you” enough for being patient with us on this book. We didn’t expect all the hiccups we’d run into trying to get this book finished. It’s honestly felt like we’ve had to scratch, bite, crawl, slap, and bite our way to the finish line. You folks are the best!!
