First off, thank you again for backing NARCO & PLASTIC. You folks took a chance on a strange little crime thriller about a narcoleptic detective, and helped Daniel and me bring that crazy idea to life.
Well…
Apparently, Daniel and I still haven’t learned how to leave well enough alone.
This time, we decided to see what would happen if we took a post-apocalyptic zombie story, a supernatural slasher movie, and a road-trip comedy, threw them all in a blender…
…and added Murder Chickens.
I LOVE APOCALYPTIC ZOMBIE MISFITS is officially LIVE on Kickstarter!
AZM is a 200-page apocalyptic horror/comedy about a nerdy pacifist resurrected in holy motor oil and trapped inside an unstoppable supernatural slasher.
There’s a prestige hardcover, a Scripts & Layout companion book, collector cards, a die-cut slipcase edition, a Chris Bachalo variant cover, and…
We made a freaking MURDER CHICKENS card game.
48-HOUR EARLY BIRD
We’re also offering a special Early Bird package for the first 48 hours:
$165 instead of $185
It includes the signed dust-jacket hardcover, Scripts & Layout companion book, Murder Chickens card game, both PDFs and collector cards.
And whether you back it or not, I’d really appreciate you helping us spread the word. If you know one person who loves horror, weird comics, or inexplicably violent poultry, send them our way.
Every share really does help - especially during these first few days.
Most importantly, thank you again for backing my work. The fact that you’ve supported one of my crazy ideas before means more to me than you probably realize.
I hope you’ll come see what Daniel and I have cooked up this time.

A Personal Thank You (and an Invitation)

Hi! Doug Wagner here.
First, I just want to say thank you for being part of NARCO. Whether you backed the campaign on day one or joined us later, your support helped Daniel and me bring another weird little story into the world, and we’re incredibly grateful.
I’ve been waiting a long time to share this.
Over the past couple of years, Daniel Hillyard and I have been quietly working on what might be the biggest, strangest, and most ambitious project we’ve ever created together.
It’s called I LOVE APOCALYPTIC ZOMBIE MISFITS… or AZM for short.
Imagine a world filled with murder chickens, serial killers, skinwalkers, archangels, monstrosities, and every other nightmare you can think of. Now imagine they’re the heroes.
It’s loud. It’s funny. It’s heartfelt. It’s completely ridiculous in all the best ways, and somehow it’s become one of the stories I’m most proud of.
Rather than ask you to back it sight unseen, I wanted to let you decide for yourself.
I’ve put the first 12 pages online for free, so you can see exactly what Daniel and I have been building.
If you enjoy what you read, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d click “Notify me on launch” on the Kickstarter pre-launch page. It costs nothing, but it helps build momentum before the campaign goes live.
You can read the preview and visit the Kickstarter page here:

Whether AZM ends up being your kind of weird or not, thank you again for supporting my work over the years. Every Kickstarter you’ve backed has given me the opportunity to keep creating stories I genuinely love, and I never take that support for granted.
I hope you enjoy meeting the wonderfully broken misfits of AZM.
All the loves, Doug

The Latest Kickstarter from 12-Gauge is Ending Soon - "Jason Pearson's BODY BAGS: Artist's Edition"
– Mon, Nov 18, 2024 at 06:42:11 AM
Hi everyone! Keven Gardner here. I'm sending this update in case you haven't heard about our new Kickstarter campaign honoring the late Jason Pearson. This is a fully funded campaign entering its final few days (ending Thursday afternoon) for a 12" x 17" Artist's Edition hardcover of Jason's creator owned series, BODY BAGS. Jason was an incredibly talented creator that many of you know from his Marvel and DC work over his long career, but BODY BAGS was his masterpiece. This project is being done in a partnership with Scott Dunbier of Act 4 Publishing (formerly of IDW), the Eisner Award winning creator of the Artist's Edition format that so many of you know and love. We also have two other books as a part of the campaign: the LOCKED & LOADED sketchbook, and a book called the Artist's Edition+, which contains even more of Jason's behind the scenes work from BODY BAGS.
And the covers for the 3 books we are offering in the campaign...
BODY BAGS: Artist's Edition, 12" x 17" Hardcover, 240 pages minimum.
BODY BAGS: Artist's Edition+ softcover, 8" x 12", 80-pages.
LOCKED & LOADED: A Jason Pearson Sketchbook, softcover, 8" x 12", 64-pages.
Please check it out, and if you feel inclined, please help us spread the news.
Thank you!
Final Round of Shipping

By now almost everyone has their books, and hopefully you are all enjoying them. From the messages we've received, it looks like that's the case so far.
The books that are left to ship are going out starting tomorrow. If your book was damaged in transit (luckily only 1 or 2 have had that issue so far) the replacement will be going out over the next few days as well.
For backers of the "DEAD HEAD" Sketch and "KILLER SWAG" tiers, we are still waiting to get your personalized books back from the printer with the tip-in plate of your "Dead Head" illustration inside. There was an issue with the original batch, so the printer is redoing all of those now and we should be able to ship by the end of next week.
Thankfully, that should wrap this up. We learned a lot in this third Kickstarter of ours, and even though it ended up with more hick-ups than the first two combined, we will be much more prepared moving forward (the old saying of, "you don't know what you don't know" kind of bit us in the butt, but we will get better as a result). Thank you for being patient with us; we know you all take a leap of faith when backing any Kickstarter, but even if we see some delays with one of ours, you will always get your books when you back one of our projects. Always.
It can't be said enough, but thank you so much for the continued support over our three campaigns. On a personal level, holding this NARCO book in my hands was truly a dream come true; I had a little idea for this character and the inciting incident for this book many years ago, but it took Doug and Daniel to spark to it to turn into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined. Honestly, without Doug and Daniel creating PLASTIC, and then VINYL, and then PLUSH, I don't think it would have gotten past the idea stage. Their crazy universe of serial killers created a place where Marcus could exist in an organic fashion. Make no mistake, this is Doug and Daniel's story and their book, but seeing that little idea turn into such a beautiful graphic novel really makes all the time, effort, and even the frustration of trying to exist as an Indy publisher, pay off.
Thank you all for being a part of this journey. We literally could not do it without your support.
One more thing-- be on the lookout for an announcement from Image Comics in the coming days. Doug and Daniel have something very cool coming your way (teaser images below). And make sure to follow us on Instagram and X (why can't it still be twitter?) at @12gaugecomics for updates on all our projects.
